Description
Highlight Solar Outside Sales Consultants actively identify and pursue leads, address customer’s questions and concerns, and meet sales quotas of solar electric systems and energy efficiency services. Outside Sales Consultants will spend much of their time traveling to and visiting with prospective customers. Outside Sales Consultants are the primary external representatives of Highlight Solar and are expected to convey a sense of expertise in services and capabilities offered. This position requires tact, sensitivity, and a high degree of customer service and professionalism.
Responsibilities
- Sales of residential solar electric systems and energy efficiency services
- Closing deals and signing contracts
- Prospecting for and qualifying leads
- Conducting site evaluations for potential customers, rough system design
- Estimating cost and pricing systems
- Analysis of customers’ current and projected electrical usage, and financial return on investment
- Must have a clear understanding of contract agreements and be able to explain and review agreement with customers
- Communicating with project manager regarding system design
- Logging all communications with customers in contact database
Requirements
- Experience with grid-tied solar electric installation, design, or sales preferred
- 2-4 years of sales experience in a relevant industry; high tech preferred
- Proven ability to build and develop business relationships
- Experience building a book of business
- Strong ability to project monthly sales numbers
- Strong computer skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Experience performing financial calculations (ROI, IRR, NPV, APR, etc.)
- Understanding of general construction
- Desire to stay on the leading edge of the industry
- World class communication and customer service skills and experience
- Four year college degree
- All candidates must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background and drug screen
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills

Description
Highlight Solar is seeking applicants to install residential grid-tied solar electric (PV) systems. In this position, the Senior Solar Installer will provide support to the crew lead of the Solar installation team, communicate job status data to the operations management, and ensure the completion of solar installation of all solar arrays/systems. It is the responsibility of every Solar Installer to ensure safe work practices for the Highlight Solar installation team.
Responsibilities
- Guide and lead on-site solar installation, working off of plan designs
- Pull inventory for each solar installation job
- Pre-assemble job components as needed
- Pre-assemble job components as needed
- Layout and assembly of solar modules / array and mounting hardware
- Mechanical/structural mounting of racking, modules and electrical equipment
- Electrical wiring of solar array/system (AC and DC)
- Document completion of completed solar installation
- Clean up of solar installation job site
- Attend mandatory training sessions on new products, solar installation methodology and safety
Requirements
- Team player
- Must be able to pass drug screen and criminal background and driving checks
- Must have a clean driving record. (example, no DUI in the last 5 years)
- 2-4 years of solar installation (PV) experience
- Associates degree preferred
- Proficiency with Email and other computer programs preferred
- Several years of relevant construction experience (electrical or roof work)
- Understanding/experience with electrical wiring of AC and DC systems strongly preferred
- Experience with the safe use of hand-held and power tools
- Experience working with all types of building materials – various roof types – stucco, wood, concrete, etc. strongly preferred
- Must be able to climb ladders and stairs, comfortably lift 50 pounds repetitively, and must be able to work on your feet for long periods of time
- Ability to work in extreme environments, e.g. hot sun, below freezing, crawl spaces, etc
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
